Minimalism
Minimalism describes movements in various forms of art and design, especially visual art and music, where the work is set out to expose the essence or identity of a subject through eliminating all non-essential forms, features or concepts. Minimalism is any design or style in which the simplest and fewest elements are used to create the maximum effect. The elements of art (line, shape, color, texture, form, value) and the principles of design (Balance, proportion, repetition/rhythm, emphasis, unity) are important in this type of composition, as there is very little else to distract from poor composition. While taking these photos you want to avoid distractions, limit your color pallet, use repetition to lead the viewers eyes through the photo, use interesting lines to guide your viewers eyes to the subject in the photo, shoot from unusual angles to create interesting lines, use negative space to your advantage, (the less objects the better) use shallow depth of field to isolate the subject, (blurring out the background works well) and bright interesting colors to make it pop.
