Chicago Art Institute
Field Trip to the Art Institute in Chicago
At the Art Institute i saw a lot of the different sites and galleries there. The ones that i saw the most of was the portraits from the 1700's and 1800's. I found these to be really unique and each artist painted there portraits a different way. Some had the painting focused on the face of the person while other paintings had multiple people in them. I also looked at the ancient Europe part of the museum. There were a lot of little artifacts and mini sculptures there. I stopped to look at the photography section as well. While in there i noticed that a lot of the photographs taken were all from Tokyo. There weren't any from america or any where else in there. I also went and saw the modern art paintings and sculptures. I enjoyed this display the most because i enjoy seeing all the different shapes, colors and lines blended together to make the paintings very interesting. I don't enjoy all the old paintings of all the people, i like more modern and colorful paintings and sculptures. One thing that i thought was really cool and unique was the Video, Film and Audio gallery. I thought it would be hard to take art and turn it into a short video clip but the artist that did that did very well, even though some of it was kind of strange. Over all i thought it was a fun time and i would love to go back and see all the exhibits that i didn't get to see.
